The Great Escape bike - Steve McQueen

I'm new to motorbikes.   Does anyone know what type of bike Steve McQueen was riding during "The Jump" in the movie The Great Escape?

The bike was a 650cc Triumph Trophy TR6.http://tiger100.co.uk/mcqueen.html

Although Steve did a lot of the stunt riding shown in the film he did not actually do the jump! That was done by Bud Ekins.http://www.off-road.com/dirtbike/rick/bud.html
