Hi, just bought a BSA scooter with no documents, i have read where the frame & engine numbers usually are on BSAs of this age but have so far been unable to find them.
Can anyone please point me to the exact position of them please?

The listed positions for the engine and frame numbers are:
Frame = somewhere on the main stand brace.
Engine = *should* be on the left side of the crankcase below the barrel joint.
Which model is it, the 250cc four stroke twin or the 175cc two stroke single?

You maybe interested in the picture of the BSA/ Sunbeam assy line in 64 shop at Small Heath. It shows the two stroke engines. Both types where built together ( twin and single ) I am secound from the left and was the Inspector in charge.
