chopper forks

Hi,

I am in the process of trying to build my own chopper. I have built a bike before however this is my first attempt at a chopper. I am trying to find front forks......either to buy or to be made.....

Can anyone helpwith this I dunno where to even start looking....

what yokes are you using?,what diameter forks do you need , what size wheel ,lenght of fork is needed.
breakers yards can be a great source for forks for choppers.
what engine and frame are you going with btw?, i;m a bit of a chopper nut meself .

Thanks for the interest, I have gone for trail bike forks  37' long. Whic gives the rake that I needed to keep the bottom of the frame level. I am using 19' wheel.

I have a honda cb550 engine 1977 and I have aquired a hard tail frame.

Now I need to try and find some original cb 550 exhaust pipes.

What have you got?

Hi Dougie,with trailbike forks the travel can be so much that on a chop under heavy breaking the down pipes/tubes can ground out,it may be possible to stiffen the forks by putting car valve springs down the fork tubes,hope this helps Sean.
