Triumph TRW
« on: May 28, 2010, 06:01:50 PM »
Hello, I'm new to the forum, and I am looking for some help, if possible.

A young friend of mine has a TRW, I helped her get it running again today after several years of inactivity.

We got it to run sweetly, but there was practicaly no oil in the tank.  After filling the tank from a can that was later found to contain dirty oil, we drained it and refilled with the only oil available. This was something like 14/40, I'm guessing this is not ideal in an old engine.

Do we need a straight oil?

Thanks in advance.

Don't use multigrade. A straight SAE 40 will probably be what it needs.
