Another quick Bonnie query

Would anyone know what the torque settings are for my '76 bonnie camshaft nuts? My manual only gives a setting for the crank pinion nut.

Hi there, You're quite right the manual does not give a torque. For what it's worth I was advised many moons ago by a well known Triumph dealer in Shipley to torque to 30lb ft. This I have since that day always done and had no problems. I hope this is of some use to you. Cheers, Dave.

Thanks Dave, I had abandoned all hope for advice on this one. 30 will do me. I'm using my crank pinion to lock the wheels but I'm going to come unstuck when I have to torque the crank pinion nut, still, two out of three ain't bad! I think that one has to be 80 lb/ft

Glad you are using my crank pinion method. Just do the wheels up tight, they are not under much load and are mainly held by the woodruff key. I've come across a couple of engines with them done up finger tight and run for thousands of miles like that !!!
