run some baking soda tro my blasting gun today to clean some mag bodys and gearbox cases , the results are very good and no small abrasive bits to find there way into the bosh just dip in warm water and its gone (for carbs) , try it you need @ 110 psi but still ok at 80

Hey there Wet Dog

Good work! you are quite right in what you say! Abrasive blasting is my line of work! Just a heads up though make sure you clean it thoroughly by flushing continuously until it is squeaky clean as any Bicarbonate of soda residue will contaminate the surface of anything you wish to paint especially! the paint will fall right off after a short time.

Cleaning Ali components is perfect for soda blasting, but if you just dip the components in warm water you will leave a weak solution of the soda and you will get some oxidisation that will annoy you later.

Just thoroughly wash  clean afterwards and it will give great results!

Cheers
