Identifying the year of this Raleigh motorcycle

Hi All.

Can anyone help me Identifying the year of this Raleigh motorcycle i got from my dad.
It has a Sturmey archer engine. Number - 7179
Frame, Number - 7701.
It's pretty bad shape so i'm just wondering if i should go at it.
Any help is welcome.

1923-ish I think, and maybe a 350, but Raleigh numbers are a bit scrambled so you'd have to call in the VMCC Raleigh marque expert if you wanted the definitive ID and date.

It would be a nice little bike, but also a significant restoration project. It could be restored if you want to do it, as parts are probably not to difficult to find.

You might want to find out exactly what you've got before you decide.

A sunlit pic of the timing side would probably assist greatly in getting it id-ed.

Put it in with the long-term-projects side of the garage, and do a bit to it now and then.
After a while, you won't remember the cost, and it will start to make progress.....

I usually start with the frame and get it up to rolling chassis stage, then I get really keen and start on the (expensive) engine bits.
