Not sure if this is the correct section to use, but here goes.
Can anyone identify the people in these 2 photos?
Some are easy, others not so easy.

The gentleman second right from Monty in the (first) photo is possibly Philip Vincent?

The younger man (second left) in the second photo looks like Geoff Duke to me?

Bloke on the left in the second pic could pass for Mr Chumley-Warner.

I believe the posting of the photograph that includes Dennis Lashmar and Geoff Duke was a consequence of me writing to Geoff Dukes son. I am trying to compile as much information on my late uncle Dennis as I can in order to write a biography and I intended to publish it and as much material as I have and can find on a website in the near future. Dennis won the IOM Clubmans TT in 1949 on a Vincent HRD but sadly his short career ended with a fatal accident at the German GP in 1954 riding a Pike BSA 500. If anyone has any memories, letters, stories or photographs that they would be happy to share with me I would be most grateful.

I've been in touch with Ton van de Rit; www.pike-bsa.com who has helped me a lot and I recently joined the Vincent owners club Forum. I've also been in contact with Valerie Davey who built the Gus Kuhn site. Her father Vincent Davey served with Dennis in the parachute regiment in Palestine.

Cheers
Mark Lashmar

It probably doesn't help anybody but I'd guess that the photo of Phil Vincent and Montgomery was probably taken at one of the early '50s Earls Court Shows.  If I remember correctly Monty was there as a VIP guest and BSA gave him a brand-new Sunbeam S7 (because he had owned a Sunbeam some years ago I gather).  I'll sift through some of my books and see if I can find a direct reference to that show and/or that photograph.

Mark, all I can help you with is D.G. Lashmar's race results for his TT races:
1951: Lightweight, Retired, Rode an L.E.F.
1951: Junior, Retired, Rode Norton
1951: Senior, Finished 13th, Norton
1952: Senior, Fin. 30th, Norton
1954: Lightweight, Retired, L.E.F.
1954: Junior, Fin. 32nd, B.S.A.
1954: Senior, Fin. 21st, B.S.A.

He clearly enjoyed his racing! These figures come from '50 Years of T.T. History' published in 1957 for the Golden Jubilee of the T.T.  Unfortunately I can't tell you any more about Mr. Lashmar, but good luck with your research and publication; I look forward to reading it.
