T120R timing on cam gears
« on: August 02, 2008, 11:04:52 AM »
i just redone my crankshaft by having it turn down .030
and put oversize con.rod bearing shells and rings but i line up all gears in place and my valves fist were both intake and exh. where going up and down at same time ,  thats when i first reasalbled engine the intake cam has three key cuts on it so i moved it to the keyway in line with dot on gear i know it only lines up once every 94 revalutions but how do u get it lined up if i failed to mark before removing gears when valves are adjusted i would be coming in contact with piston tops is the setting at TDC of power stroke when intake has opened and right  before exhaust opens? any help would be very much apreisiated

The dot on the inlet and exhaust camwheels should be next to the keyway. Use the long stroke on the intermediate wheel to line up with the dot on the inlet camshaft. Crankshaft will be at top dead centre.
