have had a lovely paint job done on my 1968 T100SS tank (at Armstrongs in Cricklade, Wiltshire). What was the cost, if you don't mind me asking?
Am now about to glue on my nice new tank pads and want to make sure I don't mess it up...Does anyone have any tips on the best way of doing this? What is best type of glue? I was contemplating evostik. I used Evostik on both my old Trumpets, and it worked fine. Worth marking out the exact position of the grips before applying the glue though; you really don't want to be in the "is that the right place?" mode when the glue is already tacky.
I suggest you do one side at a time, so you can ensure the edges are all stuck down. They can try and peel up, and the paint comes with it too....
And what technique to use to avoid excess glue spreading out beyond the pads onto my nice new paintwork...A thin bead well isside the outer border. Hopefully that allows for the squishing-out effect..
