Noob with no idea
« on: November 10, 2008, 11:11:19 AM »
Hi,

Firstly apologies this is my first post and im on the want already  :-[

Ive been asked to sell on an unfinished project for my friends father, but im only into my sportsbikes and not really sure what I should be asking for it or the best places to advertise (other than ebay and on here) and not having alot of luck finding similar bikes to compare it to, so any useful guide would be great, this is a rough spec :-

BSA M21 600cc sidevalve with sidecar in AA trim, Think its about 1951 have to check papers. (Genuine AA bike, originally from the Channel Islands.) Needs completing although 95% of work done & only known major part missing is the rear plunger springs.
Engine & gearbox have been rebuilt, New crankpin, piston, rings, mains, new bearings & seals in gearbox.
Frame & cycle parts including wheel rims & hubs have been stove enamelled, stainless spokes to all 3 wheels.
Front forks rebuilt with new bushes & seals.
Chaincases,& ancillary engine parts stoved.
Tank finished in correct AA yellow.
Engine/box is only loosly bolted in but everything else is pretty much on (from what I can see)
2 AA boxes to make 1 good one for fitting.
All leg shields & mounting tubing available.

Has been restored to a really high standard so far, havnt taken any pictures of it yet tho.

If anybody knows what I should be looking to ask for it that would be great.

Thanks in advance
D

The value of machines has been discussed many times and the answer that always comes up is it's what someone is prepared to pay, but I would think you have to be looking at not less than £3,000. I am sure you will get other opinions as well.

Thanks I do appreaciate the response and ofcourse I understand that its only worth what someone will pay,  I just dont want to do him wrong by asking way under for it, but thats pointed me in the rite direction.

Cheers
