Royal Enfield Clipper
« on: August 14, 2009, 09:17:34 AM »
New poster here, registered to try and find out some information. My father was given a 1955 Royal Enfield Clipper a few years ago, with the idea to restore it and get it up and running one day. He's never got round to doing this however, and now we've listed it on ebay, with no real idea on its value or anything. We were quite shocked to see that within a few hours of the listing being placed the price shot up to £330. I was hoping anyone here could assist me in giving me a rough valuation and any other information on the bike, by having a quick look at the listing, if that's at all possible? The URL is:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280384938332&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123

The engine is seized and it is really a complete restoration project, but it seems there is quite a demand for it, as we have many people watching the auction at this early stage.

Many thanks in advance!

It looks like a 350cc clipper rather than a 250cc ut I could be wrong. The rear mudguard is unusual, and the rear shocks look like they mount to it rather than the frame. I would estimate the final price to be about £650 to £800 but I'm more familiar with the prices of Enfield COs and Gs.

Cheers, Chris.
