kawaskaki z900
« on: October 04, 2006, 02:17:03 PM »
Hi All
I WILL be purchasing a z900 sooner or later! (Hopefully sooner)
Can some one please give any info, pros and cons of this beautiful machine. I know an ons exhaust system can cost up to a grand but, so be it if i can find a good one with has horrible 4 in to 1.
Are there any other things to look out for that could give real probs.
Cheers
Tony

Hi
Ganley am not an expert on Kwakers. Hope this helps.

Last model produced was the Z900 A4 I think. Some say this was the best of all the 900,s. Green tank with thin pinstriping and Z900 on side panel.

The first 900 was the Z1. the only one with a  black engine with either Brown and Orange or Green and Yellow paint.

Next was the Z1A. Silver engine. Green tank with yellow bottom and pinstripes. Or Blue tank with gold bottom and white pinstripes. Also Brown tank with an Orange bottom and white and brown pinstripes.

Then came the Z1B. Silver engine. Red tank with a gold bottom and white pinstripes. Also a Blue tank with gold bottom and white pinstripes.  The best way to identify a Z1B is by the large 900 on the sidepannel I think!

See ya

Tony
Have never owned a big Z. Their reputation is very good. The motor is bullet proof. I don't think there are any weak points on this bike barring the usual poor braking with the single disc and other wear and tear items you would check out on any bike.
Try E-Bay for for your pipes!
