Importing a bike into France
« on: September 16, 2005, 06:21:51 PM »
Guys,
does anyone have any experience of importing a classic bike into France.  A contact of mine is trying to buy a Norton (from me!) but is finding it difficult to find his way through the French administration.  This must be a regular practice.  Can anyone offer any advice?
Thanks
Nigel.

I have nearly given up on this ! After 2 visits to my local prefecture I now realise that if the motorcycle was not originally sold in France by a concessionaire you are in for an uphill struggle, at least if you need a certificat d'immatriculation to drive the bike on the road.
