SUNBEAM SOLD TO AMC IN 1937 WHO CARRIED ON
MAKING SUNBEAMS IN THE JOHN MARSTON MOULD
FOR A WHILE BEFORE MAKING RE-BADGED AJS ( HIGH CAM ) UNTIL 1940. THE NAME WAS THEN SOLD TO BSA WHO PUT THE SUNBEAM NAME ON THE S7 & S8.
THE 1936 250 WAS THE MODEL 14 WHICH HAD THE
BURMAN GEARBOX FITTED. THE 250 WAS, UP UNTIL
1936 DESIGNATED AS THE ' 250 LONGSTROKE '
59 MM BORE x 90 MM STROKE. THEY DID NOT SELL
VERY WELL DUE TO THERE POOR POWER OUTPUT.
BUT NEVERTHELESS THEY ARE PLEASANT TO RIDE.
THE 250 CONTINUED UNTIL 1938 IN VARIOUS
MODELS SS WAS SEMI SPORTS, S WAS SPORTS.
THE MODEL 14 WAS BUILT FROM 1933 UNTIL
1938 EXCEPT FOR 1935 WHEN THE MODEL 16 HIGH
CAM WAS PRODUCED, THIS WAS NOT VERY RELIABLE
SO THEY REVERTED BACK TO THE MODEL 14.
