Ariel motorcycles
« on: January 03, 2010, 09:33:39 PM »
Hello everyone, I myself do not know a great deal about motorcycles but my neighbour has bought himself an Ariel Motorcycle from ages past, and it has a light on it that needs carbide to power it. Although he is very much an expert on most things bikey, he doesn't know what type of carbide powder to get for the light. This is where you good people come in. Would any of you know what type of Carbide powder he should buy and where he would get it?. Any help would be gratefully received.

The full name is Calcium Carbide and where you get it will depend very much on what country you live in. A little more information on where you live should get you a more helpful answer.
Cheers,

Thanks 336, I live in the Northeast of Scotland at New Aberdour, just outside of Fraserburgh so it will have to be somewhere on the internet. If you have any ideas where to look I would be grateful.

Justin Faithfull, yes you are right, it is a BSA. I assumed that because my neighbour is heavily into Airel bikes that it was one. I am sorry for misleadeing you all on. It was a genuine mistake on my part. But its still a nice bike isnt it?. God a feel such as fool now ha ha. Jim
