AJS K8 500 OHV 1928

Hey guys, new to this forum so I hope im posting in the right area. I just bought a AJS K8 1928 model.500cc OHV .two thing is what is a average value. It does run. Also I am seeking a few spares like a better binks carb, kicker spring, exhaust etc. Can anyone help or guide me in right direction. Thanks in advance for the asistance

We'd need to know just where in the World the bike is to even hazard a guess at value. Not one of those the Army found in Helmand province, is it? They're probably going quite cheaply.... ;)

Its in Australia. And its in good condition..Starts etc..Take ya 100 pound and use it to buy some tissues LOL

Depends on where you live in OZ. Much easier to get parts locally than chase all over the country so where do you live? From your comments so far it seems you are new to vintage motorcycling.
As for value, put it on eBay and you'll soon find out.

Clearly the spirit of Xmas has come early for some.... ;)

As to value, who knows, especially in these straitened times when the item for sale  is so obscure that it's not sold on a regular basis, but then if you bought it hoping for a quick quid, you're a mug.... ;)

What it may fetch in the small ads of a local paper in Oz after sitting in the sun for the last fifty years doesn't equate to some Californian 100-point resto bike for sale at one of thier infamous "all done for charidee" auctions.

Google it and see what comes up. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Cheers Rex im not out to sell the old girl. Im actually chasing a couple of spares and am finding it a bit hard. Need a better binks for it and the kicker assembly such as spring etc. The bike is used ridden condition..Not in a restored green fresh condition. Its original as if you found it in a barn look. I love the bike and its never to be sold but id like to find whether they worth any value at all. I did pay good money for it butthat doesnt worry if i paid even a couple too much. You can spend that just finishing a basket case so to speak..

What a stunner. For what its worth my experience would suggest that the cost of restoring that bike to showroom condition would never be covered if you tried to sell it.
If you get joy out of riding bikes that shines like new then spend as much as you have to.
If you enjoy riding the bike hw it is then save your money.
Restoring bikes of a reatively low value is never a great financial decision it only benefits the lucky sod who buys it after its done.
Good luck with what ever you decide to do and ride safe.

gunna leave it as it is..and just finish the few missing bits..
Have you ever seen a K9 set of cases with a OHV 500 head???  I saw that the other day ..Was supposed to be big bore K8 also..
