70 T100c original colors

I have purchased a bike from an uncle who had used it for a parts bike to build another identical bike. It was a 70 T 100c Tiger painted silver. I noticed that the underside of the tank is a metallic purple and I remember seeing one this color at a show one time and curious of the name of this color. A guy told me it is the original color and is called something like Jacaronda purple. I don`t think the spelling is correct but that is how it`s pronounced. I rode this bike years ago before it was cannibalized and would like to get it back to original. Would love to find a picture of another one this color. All the main parts are original. He just robbed trivial things. I am located in Pennsylvania USA.

Hi, the original petrol tank colour of a 1970 T100C would have been Jaccaranda purple with a silver central dorsal stripe lined gold. Stainless mudguards, with the frame, oil tank, sidepanel, chainguard, etc black.

Thanks TBS That is the exact color. I have the knee pads for the tank but I`m not sure about the cast Triumph wrap around emblems. I like the silver dorsal stripe. Tim

Tim, the tank badges should be painted with the background white and the Triumph logo black. I use Humbrol enamel paint, the white takes about 3 - 4. coats and the black 2 coats
