STD 350cc Heavy Crank 1971. Help with Front Drive Socket:
So yes, i got a 1971 RE 350cc. I just rode down from MUmbai-Gurgaon (India) on it. Now currently in Delhi. Well i had just done up my engine, as in, my mech had put a Oversized 2nd size Piston in it. Well going abobe 90 was always a big deal on my bike since 3 yrs now. Even on this trip because my run-in of the engine was only like 350kms before i left my origin, my piston was barely new, but still i rode down, and then lost my cool and slowly slowly started opening up, but to no avail, it cried to even touch 95 KM/hr . Had oil leaking from the silencer too. Now as i have anchored myself in Delhi since a month, i got hold of a good mechanic here and got a brand new STD BLOCK KIT AND NEW ENGINE BEARINGS,CONNECTING ROD, TAPPETS, TIMING WHEELS AND A LOT OF ENGINE STUFF. Everythign was screwed up. Except my head. I mean the HEAD of my engine. LOL. ok now as u know the insights, lemme come to the point. I guess earlier the front drive socket was 14 or 15T on the standard bike. Which i think was one more crucial reason for my bike not going beyond 85-90 KM/hr. I guess now he has put 17/18. I wanted to know considering my crank is a heavier crank and i always wanted the Top-end in my old bike as it never did, shud i put 19T or 17/18 wud be fine??? Plz any help is widely appreciated. Also plz suggest me what options cud i go with regarding the top end and stuff... Plz lemme know if this wud be affecting the a=engine in anyway,
Awaiting reply,
Regards,
