1965 BSA C15 HELP!

Hello everyone,

     My wife's father passed away and we inherited a 1965 BSA C15. I don't know very much about the bike. I was hoping that someone could tell us more about it. Maybe a little history and possible what it might be worth. It is in excellant original condition. As you have probably guessed, I am a clueless yank from the US. Any info that anyone could give, would be great.

I have owned a couple of C15s in past years.  They were manufactured by BSA in Birmingham from 1958 to 1967.  Its a 247 cc single cylinder 4-stroke.  They were a popular commuter and learner bike in their day.  Your 1965 bike would probably be black and red.  The fuel tank would have been chrome and red.  They were known for big end bearing failure but that was improved by 1965 models - the claimed top speed was 70 mph but was more like 60+ mph.  There are lots of restored models in the UK - value between £750 - £1200.
