Triumph Trident question
« on: September 02, 2016, 08:38:00 PM »
Hi, Hope someone can help. A few weeks ago I cleared a shed for someone. They gave me permission and it was not in the dark at 3am :)  Anyway I came across a vintage motorbike tank cover. I don't think it has been used. You don't see these very often on old  bikes anymore, I guess they are out of fashion. Anyway inside is a stitched in label with Triumph Trident and Small P on. I guess this stands for small petrol tank? Any idea what year this could be? Were all the tanks after the late 60's box shaped ones the same and did other Triumph bikes have the same tank? Even though they are now not often fitted if I had a bike that could have one of these on I would want it just to have on the shelf.
               Cheers, Jon

No other Triumph models had exactly the same 'breadbox' shaped tank as the T150, however, different style tanks used on T150 models.

Two different capacity but similarly shaped tanks were fitted to the T160 model.
