VAP ABG Raphael Geminiani

Hi guys
I bought this moped about 8 months ago and she is very rare unless you know otherwise
The tank badge says Raphael Geminiani who was a French Tour de France cyclist and I’m led to believe had small bikes built under his name
The bike was also marketed by VAP ABG as a Squale type S13
The engine is a Pi2 so has a two speed gearbox with pedal start
Fitted with a one into two exhaust system
I was going to do a oily rag restoration but a lot of the parts needed fully overhauling and I think it may have been used as a field bike at some point
So far I have had a lot of the parts re-chromed and frame Soda blasted
Machined a new pedal shaft as the original was snapped in two
I will have to manufacture a right hand engine cover as this is missing
I will post some more pictures up as I progress
Any information on the subject I would be really pleased to hear from you

We trust you didn't scrub off that tank decal, that could be like hens teeth.
And worth the price you paid on its own !?
You should be able to spruce up the tank by carefully working around it.
Have fun, show us how it goes.

Yes it looks like you could re-paint the main part of the tank and leave the panels with the original transfers as they are.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply’s
Unbelievably I have sourced new tank decals from a company that supplies decals for old bicycles, it appears that Raphael Geminiani also put his name to a lot of racing bikes and the decals are exactly the same
