BSA Bantam D1
« on: February 21, 2008, 10:29:43 PM »
Hi, new here. Just got a 1961 D1, in rust flecked Mist Green. It's gonna need painting anyway, so i wanted to know, if i paint it black (i believe black was an option by then) would it be considered sacriligious? not that i care hugely, just be nice to know what to expect from the purists...

I don't think many people would get upset about a black Bantam, particularly being a factory colour that year (the other options being red and green if i remember correctly)
However, if you painted a Gold Star blue as I did a few years ago, I'd tell you to be prepared to defend your decision, hahaha.  *I'm telling you, it's factory!* Im sure the bloke i sold that goldy to had it silver before he loaded it into his ute!
