norton Electra Questions
« on: November 21, 2020, 04:26:21 PM »
I'm starting to restore a Norton Electra and am discovering that documentation seems to be pretty limited.  I have some questions that maybe the experienced Electra fans answer for me.

1.  Where can I find a detailed spare parts list?
The ones I've managed to locate don't have illustrations of body parts and those that are illustrated don't list all the parts and their associated numbers.  The biggest missing examples seem to be oil seals, although the way it leaks I could be persuaded that it doesn't have any.

2.  The gas tank trim in the pictures I've located have some sort of black insert toward the back that covers the attaching screws.  Can anyone tell me what that looks like up close, what it's made of, how it's attached, etc.

Many thanks, in advance.

Frank Westworth of RC fame is currently renovating one. He's an approachable bloke so join the RC F-B forum and ask him.

There are Electra Parts Books on ebay, seemingly without bidding frenzies.
So there will be photocopies around - probably at double the price !

Are there no oil seals shown ?
