T 100 68 oil pressure gauge ?

has anyone fitted an oil pressure gauge to their machine ?   looking for info on best gauge/plumbing/etc.

What's the point; just check for satisfactory oil return to the tank.

tgr90b is spot on, absolutely no need for one unless you want something to worry about.

It will shoot to 50lbs pressure when cold, the drop rapidly to around 5 when hot, no harm will result except you'll spend time on bike forums asking why.

I have a small one on the 66 T120. The point for me is that it indicates an oil problem on start very quickly so I may be able to kill the engine in time and not wreck it. Otherwise, when running it does a similar function if I believe something does not feel or sound right with the bike. On a bike worth a few bob, I cannot see any harm in having something which may prevent a very large bill.

Hi Oggers this is my thought exactly a preventetive measure as once I had an oilpipe split fortunate enough I was stopped at a road junction & lost grip went down on my Rs saved the tank and discovered the problem,
 in retrospect maybe traction control is a bit "over engineering" :P
could you please post details of your oil pressure gauge set up ?

Assuming the '68 model has an oil pressure switch, that's your starting ppoint. It will either be 1/8 or 1/4 BSP. You'll need a selection of appropriate brass BSP fittings; including a tee piece to refit the pressure switch. Plenty of small guages on Fleabay; either back or bottom entry. Use a bit of 6mm soft copper tube if you want to mount the gauge remotely. It shouldn't be too difficult to work out.

The oil pressure switch was 1969-on.

A 1968 timing cover should have a blanking plug (E2615/70-2615) with 3/8"x 26 TPI CEI thread.

The BSA and Triumph oil pressure switches were never BSP.

Early oil pressure switches/timing covers were tapered thread 1/8" x 27 NPT.

Not buggered, it just requires a suitable 3/8 x 26 adaptor/fitting.

I do feel I can work this out and can source a suitable adaptor (thanks LAB)
 as for being buggered I have met a few queens in my time but thats as far as it went
