Bonneville electics  Help wanted
« on: February 23, 2009, 07:46:28 PM »
Help can anyone tell me where to get a diagram for the bonneville T120. I have a Haynes manual but none of the 120 diagrams show the indicator wiring.
The indicator flasher stopped working and I renewed it and now it flashes the ignition warning light. I only changed the two connections and tried them both ways round and still with the same result.

Any help would be appreciated

Mick :'( :'( :'(

Sounds like a short somewhere, I take it the flasher unit was a direct replacement of the correct polarity.

It's in the 1972 T120 factory manual.

As you have a Haynes (unit twin?) manual, that should also include the 750 T140/TR7 models? So the indicator wiring layout for the T140/TR7 is basically the same as it would be for a late T120.

What year is your Bonneville?

If it is a late enough model to have had indicators originally, then the "ignition warning light" shuld be an oil pressure warning light.

I can only think that something has been connected up wrong, or as Hunter has already said, there could be a short somewhere in the wiring, as I can't see how that particular warning light would flash otherwise?

Thanks L.A.B and Hunter for your advice. It is a short somewhere and have spent the last 2 days trying to find it. No luck. The wiring loom could be original as the cloth cover is rotten so will attempt to rewire it :'( :'( :'(

May have to ask further questions so please do not leave the Country ;D ;D

Many thanks Mick

Unfortunately, Mick, you didn't answer my question about which year model it is, so I can't offer you any suggestions about where the fault may actually be, as I don't know which model year wiring it's got, and whether it's an ignition warning lamp, or oil pressure warning lamp (1969-on)?

Presumably there is also a flasher warning lamp? If so, is that working or not?
