New Project - 1970 CB250k0!

My first post...

This is my new (well, I'm the new owner) 1970 Honda CB250K0! It's 4 years older than me, runs great and needs a lot of work!

I plan to strip her to the frame, do lots of work, then keep her for sunny days!

Already went a little journey on her - first is one up and the rest are down!!! Quite a fun little thing to ride!

So here is the winter project (may turn into a longer project than that!!)....

looking good, i always like the k siries :D that bike makes me wish i had that instead of the g5 :D keep us posted

The third photo shows the gear change linkage is connected the wrong way I think.
The linkage arm that attaches to the selector shaft should be fitted so that it points down, not up, with the rod more or less horizontal.
That would reverse the gear change selection pattern to = one down and the rest up. Possibly it has been changed because of clearance problems with the exhaust, which isn't original?

Just checked the workshop manual I was lucky enough to get off of Ebay yesterday - looks like your right about the gearchange. Lever is a bit bent though. But one up, rest down seems right. Just checked - clearance is the issue. Non-standard exhaust obviously so will have to try to sort that out too!


Took her for a run yesterday but the revs rise with application of throttle and stay there! Wonder if the carbs need adjusted as when you press down on throttle stop screw the revs die. But when you adjust them both down it still rises!

Had the same on a CB550
I guess it has to do with the floatlevel.

I'm going to start a project on a CB250 myself pretty soon.
The register says built 1970
Color is Purple with pads on the tank.
Looks to me more like a '69 bike.
Anyone knows something with framenumbers?
it says CB250-1009816.
It has sidecovers with 350.
Hope i can get it original.
