Years ago when the H2 was a current model I rode out of Sydney on my Suzuki A100 heading home to Melbourne. If the wind was favourable and the road was flat I could maintain a pretty good 40-45 mph average - mostly.
As I hit the countryside a H2 came whistling past me cracking along at a great rate. Several miles along the road I went by him as he was filling up. Needless to say he passed me again further down the road. So it went on for the next 110 miles or so to Goulburn, the next town. Four times he passed me, three times I passed him as he stopped again for some reason or another.
Finally as we headed out of Goulburn I saw him ahead taking the turn off to Canberra while I rode straight on to Melbourne. I was tickled by this  because riding a lowly 100cc commuter I had kept up (just) with what was then the hottest bike around.
I'd never paid much attention to the old Tortoise and Hare story until then but that day I had a lesson in the truth of it.
Nowadays I'd be very happy if I still had the A100 in mygarage and I think the H2 would make a terrific partner beside it. Lovely bikes, both of them.
Cheers,
