Why does my bike hate the rain?
« on: November 01, 2009, 03:29:08 PM »
This is bizarre - If I ride my lovely 82 cg125 through a puddle it dies.  Also, after riding through a large puddle it will die after turning right...!  Runs great when it's dry.
So I've replaced the plug, and can't replicate the problem by throwing a bucket of water over the plug and ht lead.  Water from a puddle doesn't splash high enough to reach the coil or condenser.  Points are perfectly placed to catch water from the front tyre but contact breaker is hidden behind metal case with rubber gasket.
Any ideas?  Am i missing something?  Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I would suggest replacing the high tension lead? Maybe the spray from the tire has more pressure than just pouring water on it, but it has to be ignition you would think, if you have not fixed it, maybe you could reply if the engine starts up again or if you have to wait for it to dry off. Good luck. Hope this helps.
