Project hunt
« on: August 07, 2007, 08:30:43 AM »
hi everybody.
Where would one look for a project, say a BSA or a Triumph for restoring.
Are there sites or sales where one can look.
Here in Iceland it is very difficult to find old bikes for restoring and it is not everyday that I wonder about England so what do I do.
Any suggestions.

From the frozen north

Hi Johann, Guess the best place to start would be here - have a look at the classifieds and place a post in the wanted section.
Also have a look at websites for regional Vintage bike clubs, many have their own for sale section.
Whilst you on these sites check out any big events coming up, if you can take a long weekend break and do a weekend vintage rally you may find something or at least make some good contacts in UK to aid in your search - I know there's a good show on early October in Ipswich - have a look in the events listings  ;)
Best of luck!

Hi ,
to add to Pulmans reply , there is also a BIG show at Stafford in October . Although supposedly more for Jap/Euro machines , I've found stacks of Brit stuff there every year .
Best of luck ,
Will.
