dynamo polarisation
« on: February 27, 2006, 10:50:45 PM »
I have a Miller 50 watt generator on my bike and have problems with it showing a discharge whenever the contacts are closed.
The bike has been stood for some time, but I have stripped the unit and checked the insulation and connections, and fitted new brushes, and it appears in good order.
I seem to remember a similar problem some time back with a Lucas unit that was cured by flashing a live feed from the battery onto the field connections.
Does anyone know if there is a similar procedure for the Miller unit?. Or perhaps have an idea what the problem might be.
