I just picked up a bike and the frame number does not match the motor number. I can read the motor number it is A65T 3802. According to Bacon’s restoration manual this means that the motor is from a 1966 A65 Thunderbolt. If the frame number matched the motor it would be A50C-****, but of course it is not. The problem is I can’t read the entire frame number. I can read A65?? 9075. From what I can tell that puts the frame somewhere between 1967 and 1969. I can make out part of the first letter after the A65 which looks like an upside down capital L. That makes me believe that it is part of a capital T. If this is true, how do I tell what the indiscernible second letter is? It has to be either an A, B or C for 67, 68 or 69 if this assumption is correct. Were there any changes during these three years that would give me a clue as to what year this frame is? I have attached some pictures of the bike. Thanks in advance, Rick
