Can anyone advise me as to the stock colours for 1959 6T thunderbird, export (USA) models?. Just bought a very nice example, but the colours are clearly wrong. Thanks.

Hi there,
according to the Speed Twin & Thunderbird Bible
http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Features/BookReviews/TriumphSpeedTwin/TriumphSpeedTwin.htm
the USA options for a 59 Thunderbird were:
Tank - Charcoal Grey. White lettering on black bakground with black insets on main badge
Mudguards - Charcoal Grey with black centre stripe, lined white
Forks/Nacelle - Charcoal Grey
Oil Tank/battery box - Gloss Black as were all other painhted parts except the front ub which was eggshell black.
Cheers
Nigel.
