Mosport  Int'l. Raceway
« on: September 21, 2006, 10:00:04 PM »
It was August 17th, 2006 about 10:30 am on a beautiful warm summer morning in South Ontario (Canada) with temperature approaching 80 degrees F.  We headed out onto the Mosport Road Course for a practice session for the upcoming Vintage Road Racing Festival.  I'am on my 83 Honda CM250C and one Patrick Fox on his 1970 CB750 Honda.  Twenty of us enter our outlap at intervals of about 15 seconds each.  On the first of 20 laps Pat crashed at one of the fastest parts of the track and despite efforts by race rescue and paramedics died en route to the hospital.  There was no obvious explanation for the crash and rumours that he died from a heart attack were ruled out by the pathologist's report.  Pat was 56, a technician at the Darlington Nuclear Plant planning on retirement next year.  He was an accomplished machinst by hobby and lived in Nestleton Ontario not far from the Racetrack.  He loved bikes and was a good street rider.  He will be missed on the track, the paddock and the street but mostly missed by his wife and son.
