1950's BSA's

Hi all, I'm a bit of a novice at restoring bikes, picking up two bsa 650 twins the weekend.
Question, Were these bikes hand painted or sprayed. and were is the best place to get new parts, one has the single riders seat missing.
I want to restore them both to as original as possible.

They would have been spray painted, although any pin-striping would have been done by hand, and the frames at that time would still have been stove enamelled I believe.

And I suggest you get hold of the correct parts books and workshop manuals for whichever year/s they turn out to be.

Thanks LAB, thats a great start for me, Can't wait till tomorrow to pick them up. :D
The guy recons he has loads of spares, I'm hoping he has the manuals.
He also has an "Indian" which he says is "super rare" He wants 5k for it, it needs alot of TLC, Is this bike that rare, and is it worth 5k.

Could be?....If it was "super rare" then I'd say it was probably worth more?

But without more info. it is difficult to say really??
