New member - Help required
« on: July 12, 2006, 10:58:05 AM »
Hi there, any chance someone could advise reference the following.

Would like to get started on a project bike, preferably one that has been lying around and needs complete restoration.

Have been looking around and have kinda "homed in" on a couple of bikes, both BSA, a C12 1958 model and a Bantam D14 model.

Since my knowledge of vintage/older bikes is nil, could the above bikes be viable projects or are there other more suitable bikes to look out for.

Many thanks
Rab

Hi Rab,

you shouldn't have any problems with either of these.  BSA spares are widely available and documentation is plentiful.  I'm sure you will have fun with either project.

Cheers

Nigel.

I agree with Nigel, there are so many spare parts for the BSA models that you should be fine. By tackling a fairly common model of motorcycle, it gives you a bit of satisfaction when it is completed. The next step is to get stuck into something bigger....anyhow good luck with the restoration.

Zach ;)
thanks,
