Ducati Mach 1

Hi, I know absolutely nothing about motorbikes but my stepfather passed away 10 years ago and left in his garage the frame of a Ducati Mach 1.  I also have the engine, suspension, petrol tank, etc but all have been separated and are now in boxes.  Is this something that a collector would like to have and maybe try to restore or is it something that needs taking to the scrap yard and destroying. 

I would be grateful for any advice people may have to offer.

What you have may not be worth much, but it is worth something and someone will be happy to pay you something for it.  It all depends a lot on exactly what it is, and what sort of condition it is in.  I would not be planning a retirement on the proceeds.

What is best to do with it depends a little on where you are geographically.  Try approaching your local Ducati owners club, or Classic Motorcycle Club if there is one.  Failing that, the easiest solution is eBay.  Advertise it with engine and frame numbers, plus decent photos and likely prospects will work out the rest for themselves.

Mach 1 is the most collectable of all Ducati bar the very limited run bikes.
450 desmo 'shotgun" is worth about au$10,000-$15,000, Mach1 is very rare and if the bits are all good un-assembled value should be about $10,000.
