Hi all - After several months of rebuilding I finally got back on the road with no little help from Duppy and u guys!  Everything went to plan,rebuild ,take apart and do right,rebuild ...LEARN..Anyhow it was very pleasing to kick a couple of times(sorry no proof video!) and start with just a few minor adjustments to make and some additional new bits to purchase for smooth running.  Spring weather made a great day out! Question is what is the light on the headlamp shell for - I have speedo,rev counter,amp meter working ok but 2 lights below only one of which is wired and bulbed.  One works  ie stays on and I'm unsure what its for- dont think for oil pressure as theres no leads apparent for that, alternator seems to be charging ok so dont know why it doesnt go out.  Any suggestions, answers, appreciated as always,cheers

My old 1967 had an "ignition on" light. It came on when the key was turned and went off when the key was turned off....later Meriden wired it to the oil pressure sender, and then it performed both this "ignition on" function and the "low oil pressure" function.
Nice bikes, the Triumph C range, very under-rated, and isn't it nice when a resto first fires up? Most satisfying... :)

As your T100R is a '66 model, it would have had a green 'ignition on' warning light, and a red high beam warning light.

(When the factory started fitting oil pressure switches, the red became the oil pressure warning, and the green was used for the high beam warning.)

Rex,L.A.B.-Thank you the info -it all adds up and I'm releived to find the reason the light did actually go out was not because the oil pressure was down or ignition off (both of which were possibilities in my mind) but because the bulb had blown! So I'm taking it that I simply have an ignition on off light as you both suggest (relieved) - have to see if my limited electrical cababilities can wire up the high beam or maybe even the oil pressure(in my dreams).  Of course it means opening up the headlamp shell which has proved to be a bugger for getting shut again but I love the challenge....! Must go and have a blast first though as its still dry out there and lights working good!  Cheers again folks.

Mine stays on all the time the ignition is switched on.
I'm a bit worried that may be an indication that the battery is not charging.
(Only just bought the bike).

Yes it is simply an 'Ignition On' warning lamp.

However the lamp can be converted to work as a charge warning lamp with the addition of a small electronic gizmo called an LVS

Should the light go out when the engine starts to run?

No, it stays on all the time the ignition is switched on.
