Inherited Bikes
« on: January 02, 2012, 05:15:58 PM »
Hi
Been left a  VELOCETTE GTP, 1940, two stroke twin port 250cc, in fair condition and a AJS 350cc, 1960. Both road worthy etc and were driven by my uncle until he moved on! Been hearing various values and hope that the experts here can give me a ball park figure? The bikes are in Derby but will be moving them to Harrogate in the near future. Thanks in advance for any help. Col.

You could also usefully do a search back through Classic Bike and Classic Motorcycle classified adds. They will also have done features on these bikes at some point which should give some guidance on price. You can get back copies direct from them if you search their website / email them for a specific feature or job lots of magazines from autojumbles etc. These features are also useful when checking specification and prospective buyers view the bikes

You could also do an internet search via google which may turn up previous / current adverts

that should keep you busy!

PS I find Ebay a bit eratic price wise for complete bikes and quite a few seem to get relisted or withdrawn when buyers go mad overbid and dont pay up!

It has a wiring problem to the battery, something about keeping to its original design or adding a new one? No idea, but other then that, it goes I believe.
