New Triumphs Built in Blighty?
« on: April 03, 2012, 10:53:21 AM »
My mate told me a few months ago about the new  John Bloor Triumph Company products being made in Taiwan, apparently this has caused a problem with customer reactions & you certainly can't put a "Made in England" sticker on  the models made out there!

interestingly enough he made his money in the UK as a property developer, I wonder if he Built houses on Meriden & Armoury Road sites!
Anybody know why this production shift has happened, I was vaguely aware some component parts were made abroad but.......any thoughts on this?

Cheers

Yes, SOME Triumphs are manufactured at the Triumph factory in Chonburi, Thailand (not Taiwan) and have been since around 2009.

Thanks for updating me.
My fault, I think originally he said he believed some engines were being manufactured in Taiwan $ complete bikes somewhere else!

Poor old John Bloor has had to suffer the old "huh, not even real Triumphs any more" comments for a while now, sadly.
Still, I'm sure he can take it.... ;)

Yes, Bloor Homes did build the houses on the site of the old factory at Meriden. Not sure about Armoury Road though.
