Perhaps that begs the question, what determines why or when is a bike "ideal for restoration?"
It perhaps means still possible to restore.

I must be mad too then  ;) ;) ;)

That looks like a nice little project to me, you could restore it as a racer or easily put it back to standard.

Hi there. Well yes it is possible to restore back to standard but at what cost. Just take the wheels for example you are looking at something in excess of £300 depending on quality and don't forget Tiger Cubs are not very expensive to buy comparing against say a big british twin but the costs of restoration of just the wheels is not that much cheaper. So while when I have restored bikes I have not restored to try to make a profit because to me it is more of a hobby, but there is a limit to what I would pay for the unrestored bike, taking into account the costs of restoration I think £1000 is way to high for this particular bike. Dealers will always try to get the unwary to part with their hard earned cash and invariably will ask way over what they are worth but if nobody buys then I have seen them come down quite considerably from their original asking price. Only a couple of years ago a local dealer was asking £2000 for a complete but unrestored BSA A50 twin but when there were no takers a couple of months later it sold for £1200 which for me was still to high I reckon £1000 was about the correct price baring in mind the condition that it was in.
