Burman BAU gearbox
« on: November 27, 2012, 03:16:34 PM »
Hi,
I'm new on this forum.
I'm French and a french bikes Terrot lover!
I'm looking for a four speed Burman gearbox, BAU type...that I can't find here in France...so, I'm looking for some help!
Does anyone know on which type of bikes I can find such a gearbox?

Thanks for your help, with excuses for my "strange" English!
Arnaud

Any idea what is different about the BAU to the BA - which are a fairly common type.

Hi, thanks for your answers.

The difference between BA and BAU is the fixing mode.
U means Under : the motorcycle frame goes under the gear box, which is fixed by 4 bolts...I try to find a picture.

Wetdog - Velocette were pioneers of footchange in the UK, and before they adopted "Velocette" for all their bikes they used the name Veloce. Connection?

Sounds like it. Probably someone's adapted the Velo external foot change mechanism or it's been made under licence.
