Petseal (petrol tank sealant)
« on: March 14, 2007, 09:32:49 PM »
Any good tips when using Petseal? Can you redo a tank that has already been treated with Petseal?

Thanks Ian.

I would remove Petseal with their remover that you can buy direct from them. I would not have thought it would be a good idea to put Petseal on top of Petseal as the surface would have been impregnated with petrol and bonding may well be impaired. Any form of tank sealant must have a sound and most importantly a clean surface to adhere to.

dont use it in cold shed like i did the first time i used it, it took god knows how many days to cure.
the second time i did it(different tank) on a warm sunny day and after a few hours put it in a wardrobe in the spare room, it was usable after a couple of days.
