help please to identify this bike

hi, please can you identify this bike, a friend of mine have it and asked me for help on identifying it,
it is german as it appears on the fuel tank,

This appears to be a Panther 98, made by Pantherwerke AG motorcycle in Germany.
Löhne, Nordrhein-Westfalen  ?? (could be a modern address ).

I wouldn't like to put a year on it, info seems to be a little scarce.
Some good sleuthing would probably turn up some details.

This appears to be a similar model ?   Said to be just prewar.
