Remove the pads and clean up the leading and trailing edge faces of the metal backing plates with Emery paper, then apply a thin smear of silicone sealant (not silicone grease) to both faces. Allow to dry, then refit the pads.

Hello,Cheers for that, i will do it this weekend, its driving me doolally.By the way i have fitted some Keihin carbs on the bike, and after jetting issues i have to say they work really well in the lower and mid rev range,i have also fitted some peashooters and done away with the balance pipe by fitting earlier header pipes,i have also fitted a Boyer ignition, she really pulls like a train now and sounds like a TT bike!!

You may find it necessary to re-apply the silicone occasionally, maybe once a year or so, depending on mileage.
