they have a poor reputation in the UK , are these the ones built in the old cossak works ? a freind had one with a side car wheel drive , it did not last long but was more to do with him im sure , i have seen them fitted with BMW engines
It is because these machines are very capricious if you don't understand their construction when you trying to repair it, that machine need more attention. Many enthusiasts from USA, UK or Australia, when they can't find the manuals for, to example Ural M-72, they use manuals for BMW R71, because, how they think, construction of both machines is similar, and they use spare parts from BMW and install it on Ural, BUT NOT! that motorcycles is more different as you thought,, I personally restored a similar machine some years ago, it's true, restoring of that Ural was very difficult, how i wrote some rows before, these machines are very capricious, but knowledge about it comes only with practice, it is something like art, to understand that machine, now, this Ural working like twice.
