Triumph Bonneville T140e studs

Hello could anyone tell me if the two central studs that fit between the barrels should have the turned end facing downwards or up, also does anyone know the length of the four inner studs and also the thread pitch, A friend of mine has offered to make them but needs the correct dimensions. The bike is a 79 T140e with push in pipes.

Hello could anyone tell me if the two central studs that fit between the barrels should have the turned end facing downwards or up,

Downwards (so the end of the stud bottoms out before the stud thread runs into the uncut section at the very bottom of the hole).

 

Note that part of the thread at the 'upper' end of this stud in the top photo is damaged.

The 3/8" studs (21-2201) are 4 1/4" long. The thread is UNF.

Okay thank you very much for that. Do you happen to know the size of the four off inner studs that go into the barrel and exit in the rocker box, I already have the outer bolts in my possession.cheers.

The 3/8" studs I mentioned  in my second reply (21-2201) are the four "inner" studs.

The two 5/16" central studs are part 21-2200, and the four 3/8" bolts are 14-0241, so a total of ten head fasteners.
