Triumph Trident 1972 T150V
« on: January 02, 2017, 10:50:04 PM »
Hi I have a 1972 Trident with conical hub and 5 speed, Everyone tells me that 5 speed were not available in 72 the engine and frame nos state DG which is April 1972 but is T150V which means 5 speed, I know in 71 they made 200 5 speeds to send to America so they could race production bike at Daytona with a 5 speed, wondering if they done this again in 72, can anyone fill me in on this thanks ?

Apparently a batch of '72 T150 5-speeders were built as early as December '71, however, as far as I'm aware, actual T150V production started about March '72, (CG) and by the end of April '72 (DG) I believe just about all T150s coming off the production line by that time were 5-speed T150V models.
