'78 T140v push in down pipes
« on: July 30, 2007, 05:16:04 PM »
Hi guys, here goes for my first posting, please be gentle with me.
I've just bought some new down pipes, from a well known supplier, for my us spec '78 T140v, push in, without balance pipe standard 1 3/8" dia. Problem is whilst they fit the silencers, at the cylinder head end there is a gap of about 1/8" around the pipe, now ashamedly the project has been ongoing for so long I can't remember exactly what the old/original/pattern pipes that I removed were like but I do seem to remember that they had a larger diameter at the head end, still used to blow a bit though, but I can't see that I will have any chance of sealing these at all and without any contact to the head they will probably blue up as soon as I start the engine. Any comments/sugestions greatfully received before I make an arse of myself with the supplier.
Cheers.
