Does anyone know how many.....
« on: August 16, 2007, 11:22:29 PM »
1969 BSA scramblers were made for american use?  This is the upswept pipe and I think they are the Lightning models.  I am selling a very nice one but when I list it I dont want to give false information.  I have heard from collectors that the american version only had about 250 to 350 units shipped to america.  Or does anyone have a BSA site that gives production models?

Maybe you actually mean the A65 'Firebird Scrambler' model?

As the A65 Lightning was a common low pipe road model produced in fairly large numbers, including 1969.

The frame and engine number prefix should identify what model it is, as a 1969 Firebird should have an 'A65FC' prefix to both numbers.

This is the one with the high dual pipes that run down one side of the bike.  I was wrong when I said lightning style and meant firebird.  Its currently on ebay if you want to see some pics of it.  Its the one of two listed and its the red one.  The only other is a later model bsa.  Its definatly not the mass produced one.  Where I am selling it and was listing some into and I dont want to mislead anyone on the rarity of this bike compared to the lighting models.
